The Berkeley – Center for Growth and Awareness
The name "The Berkeley" is derived from the birch trees that occupy a prominent place on the property. The Berkeley, the ley line of the birches.
The Location:
The Berkeley is located in the Damland polder between an old beach ridge, on which Bergen is built, and the Bergerringvaart canal, which runs behind the site. The construction of the Nesdijk, which provides access to the site, dates back to 1212.
Walking along the path to De Berkeley, there is a beautiful view of the ecologically interesting meadow area "De Weide Nes" (The Nes Meadow), owned by Natuur Monumenten, at the grassy field on the right.
